OUR MISSION
Communities Advocating for Resident Empowerment (C.A.R.E.) is a California non-profit charitable corporation dedicated to providing comprehensive human services to low and moderate income residents living at affordable housing communities. This 501 (c) 3 organization was created to provide high-quality and consistent critical social services, educational programs, advocacy and training for children, youth, families and seniors living in affordable housing communities. We seek to create multi-faceted, sustainable models of service that are replicable and will reinforce self-empowerment, foster economic independence and encourage community involvement in all communities in which we serve.
These goals are addressed through the provision of culturally sensitive services designed with the following purposes:
- To offer job preparation, employment counseling and referrals.
- To provide a safe, structured environment for after-school enrichment programs.
- To present computer training and education in technology.
- To deliver literacy training and education.
- To provide child care and pre-school services.
- To make mental health, case management and other supportive services available.
- To offer financial education and financial literacy training.
- To facilitate food distribution.
- To provide on-going evaluation of programming.
- To seek funding from a broad array of public and private sources to support our social services and staff.
